Begin with a stroll through Dazaifu and time around Canal City Hakata, before continuing to the coast at Karatsu for your first night. Visits are planned around current opening arrangements.

Explore Arita’s pottery streets and ceramic heritage. A treasure-hunting experience at Kouraku Kiln can be arranged by reservation, before returning to Karatsu.

Day 3 · Miyajima’s Sacred Landscapes
Continue to Hiroshima and Miyajima for Itsukushima Shrine, autumn colour in Momijidani Park and, conditions permitting, views from Mount Misen.
Day 4 · Hot Springs & Architecture
Travel to Matsuyama and explore Dogo Onsen’s historic streets, the characterful bathhouse architecture, local shops and the city’s nostalgic tramways.

Day 5 · Through Kurashiki to the Sea
Travel via Kurashiki and onward by ferry to Shodoshima. Enjoy its coastal scenery and, when the tide allows, a walk along Angel Road. Settle into an island resort.
Day 6 · Autumn Colour & Olive Groves
Discover Kankakei Gorge and its dramatic island views, then explore Shodoshima Olive Park. Return to your island stay for a second evening by the sea.

Day 7 · Art, Architecture & Island Life
Discover Naoshima’s dialogue between landscape, contemporary art and architecture. Visits to Chichu Art Museum and the Benesse art area are planned around reservations and ferry connections, before continuing to Osaka.
Day 8 · A Final Morning in Osaka
Enjoy time in Umeda for shopping or a relaxed city morning, then transfer to Kansai International Airport for your onward flight.
This is a suggested itinerary, not a fixed departure. Experiences are subject to availability. Museum opening days, ferry connections, tides and autumn foliage may affect the final programme.
